December 12 to December 16, 2022

The CICDC presented a virtual course on Fiscal Sustainability from December 12 to December 16, 2022. The course was delivered by staff from the IMF's Institute for Capacity Development. 20 participants from Ministry of Finance and People's Bank of China attended the course. The course provided a thorough overview of how to assess fiscal sustainability from a policy and tools perspective. The course also discussed long-term fiscal pressures and risks as well as debt management strategies and the early warning indicators used by the IMF. Special attention was given to case studies of fiscal crises and the subsequent fiscal adjustments. The course was highly received by the participants.
