Hybrid Course on Selected Issues in Financial Sector Surveillance
March 20 to March 24, 2023
In order to experiment with the New Normal teaching mode in the post pandemic era, the CICDC presented the first participants-onsite hybrid course on Selected Issues in Financial Sector Surveillance in Shenzhen center from March 20 to March 24, 2023. The course was delivered by staff from the IMF's the Institute for Capacity Development remotely. Shenzhen center has updated its facility and health protocol accordingly to better accommodate this hybrid teaching mode. 30 participants from China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission, People's Bank of China and China Securities Regulatory Commission attended the course. With a combination of lectures and hands-on workshops, the course focused on the early identification of unwarranted macro-financial imbalances and the analysis of the transmission of financial distress across institutions, markets, and economic sectors, with the objective of reducing the likelihood and the severity of financial crises. The course was highly received by the participants.
