CICDC Course on Macroeconomic Diagnostics

September 18 to September 28, 2023

The CICDC presented a BRI course on Macroeconomic Diagnostics in Shenzhen Training Center, from September 18 to September 28, 2023. The course was delivered by staff from the IMF's Institute for Capacity Development Department onsite. 29 Chinese participants from the Ministry of Finance, the Research Office of the State Council, the People's Bank of China, and the General Administration of Customs, as well as 3 participants from relevant governmental agencies in Ethiopia, Uganda, and Zimbabwe attended the course. The course is designed to strengthen participants’ ability to comprehensively assess a country’s macroeconomic situation. It emphasizes practical tools for use in day-to-day macroeconomic analysis and relies on case studies relevant to the region where the course is given to illustrate how these tools are applied and how they can contribute to the policymaking process. The course was highly received by the participants.

The CICDC Director Mr. Hui He attended the opening ceremony and delivered opening remarks.

During the course,the IMF counselors and participants visited Tencent and WeBank in Shenzhen.
