Course on Core Elements of Banking Supervision

July 17 to July 28, 2023

 

The CICDC presented a BRI course on Core Elements of Banking Supervision in Dalian Training Center, from July 17 to July 28, 2023. The course was delivered by staff from the IMF's Monetary and Capital Markets Department onsite. 17 participants from the National Financial Regulatory Administration and People’s Bank of China, and 7 participants from relevant government agencies in Vietnam, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyz Republic attended the course. The course covered elements of micro- and macroprudential supervision, including the Basel core principles, banking regulation developments, liquidity requirements, and stress testing. The course also offered discussions and exercises on concrete applications and approaches often used by supervisors. Participants also provided their own perspectives on, and experience with, the issues covered in the course. The course was highly received by the participants.

IMF counselor is working with participants from China and BRI countries on the course’s one workshop.

The deputy director general of the International Department of National Financial Regulatory Administration Mr. Wei Lu attended the opening ceremony onsite and gave opening remarks.
