October 16 to October 20, 2023

The CICDC presented a BRI course on Tax Policy and Administration: Theory and Practice in Dalian Training Center, from October 16 to October 20, 2023. The course was delivered by staff from the Fiscal Affairs Department of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) onsite. 26 participants from the State Administration of Taxation (SAT) of China, as well as 12 participants from relevant governmental agencies in Mongolia, Pakistan, Nepal, Cambodia, Georgia, and Tajikistan attended the course. The course briefly outlines the theoretical underpinnings of tax policymaking and discusses in detail its practice and implementation with an emphasis on the region the course is directed to. During the course, the SAT helped to arrange a field trip to Dalian Tax Administration Shahekou Branch. Participants and IMF counselors had a first-hand experience on the digitalization of tax collection procedure on local level. The course was highly received by the participants. 

The CICDC Director Mr. Hui He attended the opening ceremony and gave opening remarks.

During the course, the IMF counselors and participants visited Dalian Taxation Bureau.
