CICDC Course on International Issues in Tax Law Design

November 6 to November 10, 2023

The CICDC presented a BRI course on International Issues in Tax Law Design in Shenzhen Training Center, from November 6 to November 10, 2023. The course was delivered by staff from the Legal Department of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) onsite. 20 Chinese participants from the State Administration of Taxation and 17 participants from relevant governmental agencies in Algeria, Cambodia, Cameroon, Mongolia, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Rwanda, Kazakhstan, Senegal and Indonesia attended the course. The course touches on a wide range of issues on the agendas of today’s tax policy makers, especially cross-border/international, base erosion and profit shifting, and avoidance of income and consumption taxes, including in light of the recent OECD/Inclusive Framework two-pillar agreement on international corporate taxation and so on. The course was highly received by the participants.

During the course, the IMF counselors and participants visited Shenzhen Qianhai Taxation Bureau and Huawei Technologies Co. in Shenzhen.
