CICDC Course on Cyber Risk Regulation and Supervision

July 21 to 25, 2025

From July 21 to 25, 2025, the course on Cyber Risk Regulation and Supervision (CRS), jointly organized by the CICDC and the National Financial Regulatory Administration, took place in Dalian. The course welcomed 30 participants from China, Tajikistan, Nigeria, Nepal, Papua New Guinea, and Uganda.

This course was delivered by Mr. Tanai Khiaonarong (Mission Chief) and Mr. Emran Islam from the IMF Monetary and Capital Markets Department (MCM). The main topics included trend briefings, interactive case studies, role-plays and group exercises to help participants master the evolving threat landscape, core IT systems in finance and enterprise-wide cyber-risk management. The course also focused on how these topics would  translate into practical skills: drafting regulation, selecting supervisory tools and designing sector-wide resilience measures that safeguard financial stability.
