From July 28-30, 2025, 12 Chinese participants from China Securities Regulatory Commission and the People’s Bank of China convened in Shenzhen for the workshop on Capital Markets Oversight and Development.

The three-day workshop was delivered by Mr. Dimitrios Laliotis (Mission Chief), Ms. Jennifer Elliott, Ms. Jennifer Long, Mr. Habib Motani, Mr. Terry Yang, Mr. Lyndon Nelson and Ms. Wei Sun from the IMF Monetary and Capital Markets Department (MCM). The workshop explored global regulatory models for multi-layered capital markets, tested new risk-response tools, shared best practices on cross-border OTC derivatives, sketched a phased rollout of FSAP recommendations and strengthened inter-agency ties—leaving participants with practical insights  that would be relevant for their day-to-day work.
